The National Association of Female Correctional
Officers (NAFCO) is a not for profit, 501 (c) (6)
organization dedicated to improving working
conditions in prison, jails and correctional
facilities in the United States. Our mission is to
serve as the national voice of female correctional
officers; to improve working conditions; to work
toward eliminating sexual assault and harassment of
female officers; and to promote the development and
use of cutting edge technology. NAFCO is a proud
affiliate of the International Association of Women
Police (IAWP).
The President of NAFCO is Tamara Bartel,
Correctional Officer, Nevada Department of
Corrections.
NAFCO is not a labor organization. We work to
educate the public and media and seek legislative
change at the federal, state and local levels of
government.
NAFCO is a 100% volunteer organization. We have no
overhead costs.
